Why It Works

Ripe pear brings natural softness, while oats make the puree feel more satisfying without becoming heavy. It is easy to thin for early spoon feeding or leave a little thicker for babies who are practicing texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe pear, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup water, breast milk, or formula as appropriate
  • A tiny pinch of cinnamon, optional and only if already introduced

Method

  1. Simmer the pear and oats with water until the pear is soft and the oats are fully cooked.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding more liquid to loosen the texture.
  3. Cool completely before serving. Store extra portions in the refrigerator for up to two days.
